Staunton State Park

Evergreen Wilderness Guides favorite park and a special gem close to Evergreen.  Colorado’s newest state park opened to the public on May 18, 2013. The park is located approximately 40 miles southwest of downtown Denver.   Staunton’s meadows at 8,100 feet change to vertical granite crags over 10,000 feet in elevation.  Marmots roam the park and Moose, mule deer, black bear, fox and the rarely seen mountain lion are all residents of Staunton State Park.  It is abundant in Rocky Mountain geology, flora, fauna and of course weather!
