Founder and Senior Guide

The highest moments in my life are being a loving Father and mentor.   My passion for the wilderness started in the Allegheny National Forest back before the internet.  I served in the Army National Guard 28th Mechanized Infantry Division for six years and attended the University of Pittsburgh in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

Climbing entered my life in the 1990s on Bay Area Crags like Split Rock, Mt. Diablo and Mt Tamalpais.  I moved to Colorado in 2001 to continue my climbing goals.  I am a Professional Geologist, NOLS Wilderness First Responder, and guiding / instructing since 2003.   I am an American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) – Single Pitch instructor and former Outward Bound Instructor.   When I am not outside with my kids, I love Berthoud Pass backcountry tours and dawn patrol mountain biking.   See you out there.
