Founder and Senior Guide
The highest moments in my life are being a family man, loving Father and husband. My passion for the wilderness started in Bradford, Pennsylvania and the Allegheny National Forest back before the internet. I moved to San Francisco after serving in the Army National Guard for six years and attending the University of Pittsburgh in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Climbing entered my life in the 1990s on Bay Area Crags like Split Rock and Mt Tamalpais. I found a great mentor who trained my friends and I on traditional climbing in Yosemite and across California. I am a Professional Geologist, Wilderness First Responder, and guiding / instructing since 2003. I was a certified AMGA SPI for six years and former Outward Bound Instructor. My favorites climbs are Cathedral Peak, Yosemite and Solar Slab, Red Rock. Outside of my wife and kids, I love Berthoud Pass backcountry tours and dawn patrol mountain biking. See you out there.
” Life is the same as the wilderness, it is full of peaks and valleys.”
